Tokyo

Last weekend Evan and I went to Tokyo for the last time before we leave. However the trip was a bit of a nightmare because my debit card had just expired and I had absolutely no money. I could only go because Evan was nice enough to spot me the cash.

We went to the same places, Akihabara, Asakusa, Shibuya, and Harajuku. However one night we got lost in Shinjuku district because I confused it with Shibuya district. We went to this cool little artsy bar in Shibuya that had graffiti from a bunch of Bands from when they stopped in the bar while on tour through Japan. Then we went to a club called "Club Asia"...serious no joke... "Club Asia." where we listened to good trance music but we eventually got tired and no one was dancing so we left.

The next day we met up with my friend Mizuho and her boyfriend Yosuke. She took us to Mandarake (a comics and manga store with a steam punk clock on the facade of the building)

She later took us to another club where she and her boyfriend both work as Dj's. There we met their friend Hide who is also a dj and i think played the best mix i've heard while i've been in Japan.

The next morning we got up early to got to Tsukiji (the fish market of Tokyo) which was incredible! This entire country is soooo organized and patient and quiet...except the fish market. That market was packed elbow to elbow with fish, fork lifts, and screaming japanese people!!!
I took about a hundred photos. I also got fish guts splashed on me a couple of times.

Before we left we grabbed a sushi breakfast from a near by restraunt. Evan and I got the usual but we also splurged on some Otoro (fatty seared tuna) Uni (sea Urchin) and Whale Sashimi. The otoro was delicious and the uni was probably the best i've had. The whale was strange It was fleshy but also fishy. It kind of tasted like the fat on a steak but also like fish. I will never eat it again... too much mixed emotions about the whole whaling thing but it was fun to try it.

After that we got on a train to go back to Osaka so that I could go back to class.
